Day 18

Woken at 5.30am by the ships foghorns - which kept sounding every 2 minutes until we got into port.

Welcome back to the British weather.

The fog cleared by the time we disembarked which is just as well since we had to hang about for an hour and a half for the hotel to find/start/return my car ...... I have my suspicions that when they parked the car they hadn't closed the door properly so the interior light was on and drained the battery (which means the car hadn't been locked either).
However, all was well and there was no additional mileage.

We took a detour round the M25 to go and visit some old friends of SWMBOs mother who laid on a very tasty high-tea with loads of delicious home baking.

We ended up leaving Romford rather late so only made it as far as Northampton before having to find a hotel.
