Tree at night

I was hoping to get photo of the moon, but I suppose I am still a fledgling within the field of photography, and the results were poor. Suggestions or hints/tips welcome. As I was about to call it a day (or night), I thought, 'Why not take one of the tree?'

I'm glad I took it when I did, the metadata give a time of 23:59:36...
