Day Trip to Kelvingrove
Today was beautiful sunny day (my Mummy says this is her favourite time of year) so Mum, Dad and I went into Glasgow on the train and walked up to Kelvingrove. We saw shiny red berries on the holly bushes, the last of the roses, a heron sitting in a tree waiting for fish and lots of ducks as we were walking through the park. When we got to Kelvingrove itself, there was a big queue of people, but they were all waiting to see a special exhibition (The Glasgow Boys - finishes on Monday for anyone who hasn't been yet but wants to go!). It was so nice, we decided to have lunch outside at the Al Fresco cafe and then headed in to look at the exhibits. The organ recital was going on when we arrived. My favourite bit was looking at the animals, especially the elephant and giraffe! In the Egyptian Room I wanted to climb up onto the sarcophagus, but Mum wouldn't let me. We didn't stay long in the musuem because we wanted to enjoy the sunshine, so we went back into the park to find the children's play area. It was very busy, but I had a go on a see-saw, a roundabout and spent ages standing on the climbing frame looking through the binoculars.
I fell asleep after that, and when I woke up we were in Waterstone's. We spent ages looking at books and Dad let me get a magnetic In the Night Garden book - so I can make up my own stories! And we successfully managed to buy me some new clothes - a winter coat, pyjamas, tights, a new pair of jeans, a polo neck and a dark blue heavy cardigan. Then home on the train, dinner at PapaNan's and home to bed!
Mummy Note: the trousers she has on today are supposed to be short!
