Endangered Species on Earth!
Sangai (Brow-Antlered Deer)
This rare animal local name Sangai is found nowhere on earth but only in Manipur. It is surviving in its natural habitat at Keibul Lamjao which has been declared a National Park in 1977 coveering an area of 40 sq.km. The park lies submerged underwater covered entirely on the surface by a floating entangle of mass of vegetation like grass, shrubs and earth called "Phumdi" (a kind of peat).
Today, in the early morning, undertook a photo session of the dear animal for the purpose of photo exhibition-cum-contest to be held by the Forest Department.
The blip is amongst one of the frames taken, but giving special emphasis on the antler which has been shown to advantage by taking a profile shot.
