Posin' Robin

I love robins. I reckon they are pretty smart little chaps. They always hang around in the garden, especially when you're digging, and then the minute you turn away to do something they are in there picking out the grubs and bugs. I remembered to fill the feeders today and, consequently, the elder tree is full of birds which are more visible because the berries are out and the leaves are beginning to fade and fall. The jackdaws haven't sussed out the food source yet and so the small birds are making the most of their absence. This little guy was just standing on the compost bin taking it all in and chilling. He knows those goldfinches and blue tits and collared doves (especially the messy collared doves) will be shaking enough down for him to just pick up when he's ready. Meanwhile he is posing for me on the bin, one leg forward, then the other, then this one...
