Listen to the Mockingbird

This morning I put on the bird lens and set out in the golf cart to take a picture of a heron that I has seen yesterday near the golf course pond. He wasn't there so the best I could find were a couple of ducks that were not very photogenic.

So I set out to some of the other places that are attractive to birds. In total I took 71 shots and decided that this fellow was the best of the bunch.

In this view, our tuneful subject is stretching out his neck preparing to burst forth in song. When mockingbirds sing they seem to prefer sitting on the top of a tree or bush before running through their repertoire.
