If you want something done properly...
Jesus.
The start of term brought the usual hive of activity, none of it particularly enjoyable. The typical Egyptian way of leaving everything until the last possible minute once again defined the start of term with many students not having bothered to register during Registration Week (last week). As usual, it also hasn't been possible to finalise class sizes, let alone compile registers and allocate teachers. I foresaw this however, and cleverly postponed the start of English until next week so give me extra time to juggle all the faculties' requirements. Well, I would have extra time if I wasn't also expected to solve a hundred other problems that everyone decided to have today.
On more than one occasion today, I wished everyone would have just fucked right off.
The other day, some bloke came in off the street to ask about jobs. He was clearly a bit thick and he stank a bit too, so my suspicions about his general sanity were raised immediately. I asked him to send his CV to the boss, which he did (and which was amusingly shit), and then hounded the pair of us with e-mails and phone calls over the weekend, which we ignored. After getting a 'Thanks but no thanks' e-mail this morning, he turned up an hour later to demand an answer as to why he was not being given an interview! What a fucking freak.
Ach well, it's nothing if not entertaining working in that place.
