Unable to see the Wood for the Trees
If you could chose what sort of day to have an important birthday bash, then you couldn't have done better than today.
The sun shone as we headed north to Pitlochry and continued to shine until sunset.
Rarely have I see such a perfectly blue sky at this time of year, or for that matter any time of year, stretching all the way from Edinburgh to the Highlands.
It was my sister-in-law's important birthday and the family gathered from all over central Scotland to have lunch together.
The meal was delicious and as the wine flowed so did the conversations between the four generations - well I tell a lie - the 4th generation being only 6 months old wasn't entirely understandable but he did try on the occasions when he wasn't asleep.
My camera was under the table for the entire time and the blips I managed to snatch before we went into the hotel were uniformly bad.
I don't have an excuse - it just wasn't my day.
The blip I've posted is of a dark corner in the woods beside a very small lochan.
