Inner Reflection
I've seen a couple self portrait blips on this website and I was always intrigued. The photographer usually says it was because they were busy and their self was the quickest and easiest subject for the day. This isn't the case here. As you can see here I took a lot of fun, interesting, great subject photos today. I even asked friends to comment as to which ones were their favorites, because at the end of the day it is so challenging to pick just one!
Many of my pictures today were "the one for blipfoto." Yet when I flippantly snapped this picture with my phone and turned it around to see the results... it spoke to me. I had been looking at recent pictures of myself and truly disliked what I saw. This picture... not so. It doesn't reflect the tiredness or stress I've been feeling. It doesn't reflect the salt or sugar I've been eating. It reflects the peace I felt laying in the grass, fresh air in my lungs, sunshine on my skin, and friends around me. It means the world to me to have what is beautiful inside be reflected to the outside... and then to see that myself in a picture... priceless.
This picture also just happens to complete the extra homework assignment we were given to put our subject off center and at one of the marker points. I lucked out! ;-)
