Race for the Cure

Our internet provider (telenet) had major problems yesterday, which meant no or hardly any internet connections for most of the day. Could not get my blip uploaded.

However, we participated in Antwerp's 2nd Race for the Cure. Abbie, Pippa, myself and our friend Jeri and her daughter Lily did the 3km walk. There was also the possibility of a 6 km run, but that might have been a bit too much for the girls (and to be honest, for me as well in my current fitness state). Race for the cure has the aim to raise awareness for and collect funds for local initiatives and research into breast cancer.

2009 was the first edition of the Race for the Cure in Antwerp. Very poignant at that time as one of the school teachers was being treated for breast cancer at the time. She did the walk last year as a sufferer and this year she was there again: as a survivor!
There were a lots of different stories for most of the participants.

All in all it was a good and positive day...
