Hello Ladies......

After the conference ended on Saturday afternoon, 3 of the other presenters were taken to a museum of Transylvanian ethnography. Included in the exhibits were a selection of tradtional Romania costumes that used to be (and in some areas still are) worn on holidays. This attractive piece of headwear is made from peacock feathers and was worn by young, single men. Once they were married, they no longer wore it.

We followed the visit with a slow meander through the city's old quarter before soaking up the late afternoon sunshine with a small glass of Ursus beer and assorted beer snacks, which to my delight included gherkins :-)
