Fearless
Centuries ago, every seaman had his own seachest. There were no fancy suitcases on wheels with remote control. A wooden seachest, big enough to put all your belongings in for the next trip of two years. And small enough to carry it on your shoulder. Their grandchildren using them now as antique furniture. This is something I realised almost too late, I have one from my grandfather, but I don't have one for my grandchildren. Three months ago, I started making myself a decent seachest. It is big enough for sure to put all my belongings in, they can even bury me in it when i drop dead on board some day. Today I finished it, the sign in the lid shows an old logo of an old and forgotten Dutch steamship company. Translated it says: Fearless he who wants to sail, but beware of the dangers.
By the way Tjeerd; it is real teak with ten layers of varnish
