Arduaine Garden

Cleverly named "The Heron Pond", no doubt because herons can be spotted here, we managed to find only a statue of one. Great find, this place. We must have driven past many times, but we've never been in before. Glad we went to have a look today. As is so often depressingly the case these days, the garden is under threat from lack of funding. Its been given a reprieve for another year, but its long term future is very much in doubt.

Off to Oban to do some shopping and then turned up at the PierHouse in Port Appin just as the kitchen had closed for lunch. What timing!

Saved by going back to Oban for oysters on the pier and a bag of lobster and prawns to cook for dinner.

To be washed down with some rather excellent beer from those very nice people at Fyne Ales. Another of this weekend's discoveries. Top stuff.
