Tri gang
Well, today was the last tri of the season for me, HB and Natalie.
It was a TAD chilly first thing and the water temperature, when we got into the lake, was gaspingly cold - how quickly the temperature drops in a week and a half!! The swim was tough at first as the wind scooped up the water so much, what felt like a frantic washing machine swim, was actually just waves! I only realised this once I'd turned around the first buoy.. After that, I managed to get into a rhythm and finished in good time, not far behind HB. On to the bike, we had an 8 lap course - 2.5k into the wind, 2.5k with it behind us - one way hard, one way easy!!! It was fun and it was hard but I finished my bike in the time I was aiming for, then headed off on to the run. Again, laps and again hard and easy!! The sun came out though and I was able to keep running steady and not feel beaten by the end. Its only these past few races where that's happened and I'm liking that! At the finish, I saw HB who finished really high up, Natalie who had finished her sprint, Matt, Team Support for the day, and our favourite airedale supporter Poppy. Hoorah! Time to eat cake!!
A bit sad that the season is over but really happy to have had a great day with chums and to celebrate my birthday in style ;)
