Acid yellow, autumn falls
The last poppy of the year, probably. The day is darkening, already, and the lime tree leaves are all over the lawn. My herbs are thriving but everything else is showing the first signs of wintry hibernation, or gradual death.
I'm off work at the moment, using up unused holiday before I lose it at the end of September. I had grand plans for today but they went to pot after my other half was violently sick this morning, and has taken his first ever day off sick. Pretty impressive. I blame the mushrooms he ate last night - bought from a shop in Belgium at 45 Euros a kilo - no small price to pay in more ways than one!
