A little ray of sunshine

A filthy day, weather-wise - in Edinburgh, Gateshead and at all points in between as viewed from a labouring East Coast train. No scenic blips from the train window were possible - everything was dark grey, misty and very wet.

When I got to the top of Waverley steps there was the customary gridlock of buses along Princes Street. So I legged it down to the top of Leith Walk (I almost beat one of the buses) but noticed on the way that the sun had finally come out and was illuminating Calton Hill above all the chaos.
