Nose to Tail
This is a non-venomous Desert Kingsnake, common in southeast Arizona. It is a powerful constrictor that preys on snakes (including rattlesnakes), mice, rats, lizards, amphibians, reptile eggs, small turtles, and birds. First one that I've seen.
Here we see his nose and his tail. The rest of him is coiled up under this rock in our backyard. When he unfolded and slithered (a word from Harry Potter) along the wall he was the length of three cement blocks, or four feet.
He crawled under our garden toolbox. Kinda neat to have one around. Maybe he'll eat whatever is eating our hibiscus.
