My mate John sent a link for the first man-powered ornithopter and it got me all interested in flapping things.
So I made one out of balsa, carbon-fibre, mylar, selotape and piano wire. After much fiddling and trimming it goes really well. It's strange how a reciprocating (rather than rotating) movement makes something seem alive.
