Queens Hotel

The Queens Hotel in Lerwick backs out into the sea and at high tide in stormy weather can give the guests an interesting stay. Fortunately the stormy seas rarely affects Lerwick too badly due to the shelter it gets from the island of Bressay which protects the harbour from most wind directions. Just as well Bressay is there tonight as there is a severe weather warning in place for the rest of the day and into the early hours of tomorrow. The boat South has been cancelled although the boat North is apparently on its way which would seem to indicate a calmer morning.
