After the rain
This shot is the result of me doing some serious channeling of Anneka Rice.
Usual day. School for 9, had to walk with 20 month old because I had left the pram at nursery. He only learned to walk at 18 months, so that was an early morning challenge I could have done without. Had one of those really unhelpful hindsight moments just over half way there, when I remembered the reins I have in my other handbag.... Arrived to discover it's jeans for genes day. Great. Fortunately 3 year old is still oblivious to what other children are wearing. I still felt awful and have made solemn vow to read every scrap of paper that returns from school and attach to fridge door (or possibly my own head)
Then new nursery, for no.2's last settling session. This was the first one he has actually cried at, so that was annoying.
Returned home to find I had 45 minutes before collecting no.1 and rather than collapsing straight into a heap (always tempting) I raced around tidying and sorting washing .... and then collapsed into a heap! I am feeling very saintly :-)
Collected no.1 from school, avoiding the critical eyes of the parents of brightly adorned children and became quite excited at finding mini Mickey Mouse doughnuts in Tesco (ears and everything!) for a treat for no.1 (well me really, but I had to share)
Anyway, fetched younger monster and returned home for 4pm. You see where I'm getting to.... there has been no blip time. So when husband returned from work at 6, on his bike, I said, 'I just need 5 minutes in the garden - Emergency blip!' and disappeared. This is where the Anneka Rice analogy comes into its own! We're in a mid terrace with low garden fences so I always feel really on display in the garden, especially when I'm zooming around maniacally snapping really obscure items. Today included corner of windowsill, washing line, peg, leaf, weed (as in nuisance not drug). At one point I was upside down with my head in a bush trying to take a picture of the sky through the leaves - that one didn't work out! Since lovely cycling husband was cold and in need of a shower I did stick to my allotted time and was rather pleased that this little fella was obliging enough to pose for me :-)
