Beans, beans, the musical fruit.....
The more you eat the more you toot!
Another long day at work, and bloody awful weather as well.
The Boss has been on a jaunt today, sent to Maidstone, Kent. for a conference.
She was up early to drive to Manchester airport for a flight to Gatwick. She woke me at 5.30, crashing round the bedroom. Phoned me in the middle of lunch time to tell me her hire car had been upgradaed from a Clio to a Ford Galaxy.Phoned me again just after I got home to tell me she'd succesfully negotiated the M25 and was back at Gatwick. Then phoned me again to inform me her flight was delayed by 1 1/2 hours.
Poor thing, she doesn't get out much.
The daughter arrived home and informed me she was off to a party in an hour and asked for a lift, which I duly provided.
So there I was at about 7.30, wondering what to eat.
Looked in the cupboard and what did I see? A tin of Heinz beans and sausages staring at me!
How they got there I have no idea, I don't remember us buying anything like that for years, but there they were, not out of date and smiling at me. I looked in the freezer but everything in there is for two or three people, and I couldn't be bothered to split something. I thought about not bothering and just having a bowl of cereal, but I could hear the beans calling me, "Eat me, eat me, you know you want to!"
So I did, on toast!
The boss got home about 9.30 and as is her wont told me the full details of her day, including the unusual handbrake in the Galaxy, the gate numbers, stories about several people I have never met, her seat numbers, the details of the conference, the cause of the delay, how long each flight took and even which bay she parked in! Gotta love her.
She's eyed the dirty plate in the kitchen but said nothing and has now declared that she's eaten so much all she wants is some soup and an hour in front of the TV.
So it's going to be QI and an early night. I remember when Fridays were our night, never home before midnight, several drinks, or meals out, parties, even the odd club. Now it's beans on toast, soup and a good book!
Oh well, we're off to the Son and Heir's for dinner tomorrow night.
Das vidanya.
