We drove to Portland to visit eldest of our combined tribe and family, and were outside the Mercy Corps office which is and has been their sustenance and commitment for 10 years. I saw these leaves floating in a fountain and quickly caught them in motion, harbinger of days to come. The Seattle paper said it would be a wet cold winter in the northwest----we shall see.
