Soggy farewells

This is a shot of one of the funeral bouquets, captured from underneath an umbrella in the haring rain.

So yes, it was some of the most unhelpful, gross weather we could have asked for yesterday - not sure why it had to be that way but oh well! I've never been out in such miserable conditions. Perfect funeral weather you might say - so glad it wasn't a burial...

I held up all right, and it all seemed to go very well, despite the weather and the Reading traffic. Spent a rather stuffy and uncomfortable afternoon squeezed into the back room of one of the chavviest pubs I've ever set foot in. Felt rather ill (M.E. decided to play up), so spent 3 hours ducking in and out periodically for fresh air (and wasn't able to do more than stand in the pub doorway - ruddy weather!!). Bleh. Opportunity to rest tomorrow!
