Bell Gorge to Drysdale River
Now, a view like this is worth getting up at six am for.
To Bell Gorge early, then on the road.
Stopped at the Imintji store for extra car snacks.
Nearly bought an awesome, but entirely unnecessary pair of shoes.
Back on the road.
No luck on our planned detour to a wildlife sanctuary - booked out.
Lucky they have a phone at the side of the highway to call ahead.
Would have been 100km of bumpy-road-disappointment if we'd had to drive all the way there to find that out.
Stopped at a few more gorges.
Swam in one.
Drove further than we'd planned, pulling into Drysdale River Campsite about 4pm.
The petrol might be $1.98 a litre, but they have a payphone in a fridge and lots of cold beer.
On balance, a winner.
