Saving the Birds, Part I
After researching many cheap, tacky, bizarre, and silly ways that you can theoretically keep birds from flying into your windows...I decided I could try to do a bit better on my own. The basic idea seems to be that with big windows that reflect the sky too well, the birds don't realize it's a reflection and think they are flying into open air. So, you have to break up the reflection somehow to let them see that something is not quite right. There are lots of plastic, sticker, cheapo, odd solutions that a lot of people on the internet are selling to do this. For about $.91 a piece I created and sewed these pretty buntings that play in the wind, move, and break up the reflection in the windows all while looking pretty. I hope these will be enough to keep the birds alive.
