Tickie Tackie but not Tacky

Back home in Lewes after my trip to France, I began sifting through the suitcase of belongings I'd brought with me, which I had left with my brother when I decamped back to work in the UK.

In the pile was this delightful reversible hand-painted tie from the Tickie Tackie Tie Company. I was put in mind of the tie's history. I obtained it from its maker, Mr Fenby Miskin, who ran the company between 1987 and 1992. Fenby and I met during his photographer phase, when we worked together producing interiors features for magazines, through my photo library and agency, Houses & Interiors. The tie, then, is an 80s vintage.

Mr Miskin, who I sadly lost contact with, seems now to be an entrepreneur and marketing consultant, operating out of Jersey.

I must contact him and tell him I still have his tie, and wear it frequently-ish.
