Potential...

No spectacular sunrise today and as it was another very busy day at work I didn't have time for photography until after eight 'o clock tonight. Yesterday I was reading this thread on the blipfoto forums. It is about creative use of the iPad to do light painting. As you may have seen from some of my previous blips, I have been experimenting with light painting somewhat and I was curious if I could use my iPhone for light painting as well.

Even though my ultimate goal would be to produce some cool 3D stuff using light painting (as they do in the movie you can find through the blipfoto forums thread), tonight I thought I'd go for something less complicated. I downloaded a free app called Spiri and had some fun playing with that. The method definitely has some potential; I like the effect. There were some shots that don't really show the iPhone or my hand and arm, but they were a lot darker and didn't show much else besides the light coming from the iPhone, so in the end this one won.

I'll probably revisit this method and I hope I can find some other apps that will produce other cool effects.
