Breakdown

No sympathy required.

Lots of people had worse breakdowns tonight than me. The car had been sitting in the garage for six weeks and the battery had died. So as I sat in the warmth of the flat drinking coffee awaiting the recovery service I thought of those out in the rain, at the side of the motorway, wondering whether they'll get to their destination. I also thought of the breakdown in communication that had led to the battery not being disconnected (which we now always do when leaving the car for a while, after a similar incident). Anyway all's mended now and the battery seems to have survived the draining.
