Old Chemistry

The Arts Centre in Christchurch used to be the university until about 1970 when the brains moved to Ilam in the suburbs. This is close to the centre of town, and the buildings are named after the departments they used to house. The tower above the entrance to Old Chemistry was damaged in the earthquake and so now appears to be held up by luggage straps!

Access to the building is currently on the other side, via the basement, which is quite an adventure
