random...
have you ever hung upsidedown by your feet just so you can get that perfect blip?
me neither but this shot looks like I tried.
I spent the afternoon apple-picking with the children. Each year I notice how much they've changed in the last 12 months. The biggest borrowed some of my ragged old clothes and they fit, she also did as much work as an adult. The middlest sat on a bucket and dreamed a bit but always started again when I prodded her. The littlest only had one tantrum and I got my own way in the end. Remarkable.
I'm also revising still and so my thoughts are a bit random whilst out there scrabbling through the long grass to get all the windfalls. Every few minutes someone calls my name so it's like a cue to change tack...so, I move from a critique of grounded theory, to wondering what to have for tea, to an imaginary debate about covert research, listing up points to remember about research ethics, wondering if I like Rihana more than Alicia Keys (and wondering if I really need to answer that one), my real opinion on Eminem and why the man from Green Day changed his hair colour and which colour I like best and what is the point in the Nobel Prize for Literature anyway and then, right from the back of my mind, what do I think of that long awaited report that arrived yesterday that said, as expected, autistic spectrum disorder and obsessive/compulsive but also said intelligent, happy, capable and pretty. Shouldn't I have an opinion on that too? But I don't, no more than I have one on hair colour and Rihana.
Back to the books tonight, after baked apples for tea and, tomorrow, back to the orchard and randomness.
