Various

Mr Todd Various, who appears to be something of a refugee from the Edinburgh Fringe -- i.e. he came (he's American) and never left -- stirs up an audience this afternoon.

I have seen Mr Various before and his act hasn't changed much, but his various asides to passers-by, all in the pursuit of custom, are very funny and it's hard to pull yourself away.

"TOURISTS! Over here!"

He asks two 55-ish women standing next to each other, "So how long you been married?"

Crowd titters.

"Well, at least we got the Germans laughing."

He also does a nice line in 'come hither with your paper' patter that loosens even the tightest grip on one's wallet.
