FOCUS

Wondering why this photo is out of focus? Yesterday, alas, I dropped my camera and the lens was damaged. It would no longer focus -- neither automatically nor manually. I talked to the Canon product support rep. He said I could not get it fixed under warranty outside the US. I am in France en route to Ethiopia. I need my camera.

So today I went to Toulouse and bought a new lens (un objectif). I had a lovely conversation with an I am sure competent French woman and chose a lens, but I am not exactly sure whether I chose the right one. I'm not sure I could choose the right one in English! I wanted something a little better than the one I broke because I will get that one repaired later, and it didn't make sense to have two of the same. So tonight I will read the manual, discover what I now have, and hope I didn't make a costly mistake.

And tomorrow -- FOCUS!!!
