It was part of the Open Universities Four Decades of Earth and Planetary Science.
We also attended talks by
Prof Monica Grady on life on Mars,
Prof John Zanecki - Spacecraft I have known and loved (he worked on everything from the Hubble to giotto to Cassini Huygens).

David Rothery - The Eyjafjallajakull eruption and his encounter with the media - from Newsround to BBC to Sky news, accompanied everywhere by his little tray of volcanic ash.
Oh - and Collin Pillinger was there too signing books - we bought one.
