Happy 50th Mom!

It's been ages since I blipped so I think I'll finish off my time in Beijing this summer now that I'm back again. This is a snapshot from my mothers birthday this summer. We mostly just played with the puppy.

Next up is my trip to see my Grandmother in Evia with some cool underwater shots using my krab.

Like I said I'm back in Beijing, but it might be my last visit. My parents are moving back to Greece, so we're packing up the flat before they leave in two weeks. It's a huge bummer, but in a way I'm actually kind of happy about it. I've become pretty comfortable with Beijing. That's exactly not what I want for my life right now. I've been actively trying to tie myself down to this place and I think after the past 3 years I should try something else. Who knows though. Maybe a year from now I'll be blipping about how things are going with my new job, new flat, new girlfriend, new everything right here. I said I would never spend another year in the Western Isles and look at me now. Maybe that's even more reason for a drastic change?

For the most part I'm happy though. Work is really good. I'm no more (or less) stressed than I was last year, but I've got a lot more teaching time and some more variety in classes.

I've had some really challenging issues with pupils this year too, which at the moment is a drag, but as soon as the storm calms you're not just happy to have made it out alive, but happy that you stepped up the challenge. You could have always dealt with it better, but you did alright. It's revived my passion for this job. I started out really idealistic and naive and after a while I became pretty jaded and wondered why I didn't just become an accountant in London. It makes a lot more sense if my job's just a job. But after a lot of what's going on I remembered that I actually really care about what I'm doing and I'm really happy to be doing it.

Oh yeah last thing I just saw this on tv and at first I was like, "They totally pulled a Lost in Translation," but then... well, watch it and see for yourself. I quite like the Hoosiers. I'm not crazy about them, but they're fun. Best Coast has all my attention these days.
