Thistle Down

Dream

O it's the stitch,
That holds the seam.
And it's the doing,
That builds a dream.

For you do for others,
To make them glad.
And you strive to hinder,
What makes them sad.

And then you stitch it,
Solid and true.
So it will stand up,
To the strongest glue.

Life needs its bulwarks,
To build a dream.
And to keep it from fraying,
You use a strong seam.

O it is the dream,
To see over the wall.
And it's the stitch,
The thread...the awl.
