a real Cujo moment
Lebowski returned home from his ECG, chest x-ray and blood tests yesterday. He was really groggy from the torbugesic and ketamine. Walking around really slowly then just standing staring at the wall for long periods of time. He was a different cat and possibly tripping.
Got up this morning and he seemed a lot better. Purring like mad, although still a bit slow.
930pm tonight I heard a noise that sounded like the two cats were fighting in the hall, the usual banging noise of them rolling about on the floorboards. I went out to see Lebowski having what seemed like a really bad fit. I crouched down next to him and held him. His body was stiff however at the same time violently shuddering. It was a very surreal minute and I thought the worst. When the fit stopped Lebowski walked away from me, looking back with his wee body all contorted. His ears were back and he looked frightened. Molly my other cat was sniffing about him which made his ears go right back. He was looking at me and hissing. We sat there for a good while just looking at each other, him with wild eyes, me just hoping that he didn't get himself excited and start fitting again. it was a real Cujo moment, on obviously a lot smaller scale.
He has returned to his usual self and is lying watching the X-factor and purring like a motorbike when you even look at him. It's nice having our cat back. Will be keeping an eye on him and speaking to the vet first thing on Monday.
Lebowski we salute you.
