A study in scarlet

I noticed today that the front door (little used) almost exactly matches the colour of the Virginia creeper as it is now.
The (artificial) stone figure is a representation of Anubis, the Ancient Egyptian jackal god who protected the tombs of the dead. A long time ago one of my sons accidentally broke off its ear and was given the job of mending it - the join has weathered well.
