Long lost but now found...

Dad went for a walk around his childhood village this afternoon and popped in to see the people who recently bought his childhood home after nan died last year. They showed him what they've done to the house since they've moved in and also gave him some old bits and bobs which were discovered behind the kitchen cupboards! We have some old photographs, a notebook detailing various bills paid back in 1993, an old diary from the year 2000 and a very old recipe book. I'm not sure how old *that* is, although it could easily be about 100 years old by the look of it, and it doesn't look like nan's writing, so may well be her mum's or grandmother's. Various recipes are inside. Some aren't particularly appetising. Brawn (the pig's head needs to be about 6lbs in weight. Yum!), marrow chutney, Aunt Mary pudding (?!) but apple jelly or apricot trifle sound quite pleasant. This is a photograph of everything dad brought home with him!
