Lesley's day by day

Harvest Sunday

It was a funny old day and a funny old service. No bales of straw, no sacks of tatties, no piles of tins just a few select bits and pieces - tins, fruit, flowers and biscuits. Where has harvest thanksgiving gone?? My friend has posted a good view of the Harvest table

At least we finished with a traditional harvest hymn and got to sing it more than was expected as the projector broke down ...

We plough the fields and scatter
The good seed on the land,
But it is fed and watered
By God's almighty hand:
He sends the snow in winter,
The warmth to swell the grain,
The breezes and the sunshine,
And soft, refreshing rain.

All good gifts around us
Are sent from heaven above;
Then thank the Lord,
O thank the Lord,
For all his love.
