Holmwood Road Hedge

This box hedge sits snugly underneath a crimson rhododendron and a pink magnolia, on the street outside one of the older residences in Fendalton. Fendalton is one of Christchurch's more formal and fashionable suburbs. Originally known as Fendall Town, it is named after Walpole Cheshire Fendall (1830-1913), a Yorkshireman who emigrated to Canterbury in the mid-1800s.

I was intending to go back and take this again, but all the petals had been cleared away. This'll have to do!
