Day 5: Something old
I'm not sure if this qualifies as old, since this isn't the original sculpture but what the heck. This is the Oblation, more commonly known to UP students as "Oble". This is the symbol of our school. The naked figure of a young man in a symbolic gesture of sacrificial offering of service to country and humanity has become a landmark in every campus of the University. (from http://http://upaagc.org/oblation.html) It was unveiled in 1939 made by one of the Philippine National Artists, Guillermo Tolentino.
I was supposed to shoot the original one located at our Main Library, but I remembered that there wasn't enough light there. This shot was taken as I was walking along UP with friends.
It's semestral break! :)
