Time for a trim
I had a lovely co-worker (who's since retired) to bring me a couple of pieces of ivy to start a few years ago. I had the perfect place for it, I wanted it to fall over an old concrete wall I had. It has done that to perfection. However, it has grown past the wall, to the steps and beyond. So every autumn after other things have died back, I take the pruning shears to the ivy and get it back where it belongs. Funny what can happen with only 2 little starts of ivy :D
No worries, after its haircut, it grows back just as fast as before. I haven't photographed all of it, but there is a lot of ivy. I often wonder how many little garter snakes & things may be living in this ivy wonderland
