Whalsay Ferry

Spent the morning out of the office on the Island of Whalsay off the east coast of Shetland. It involves a 22 mile road journey and then a 30 minute ferry trip on this ferry the Linga. Two ferries are on the route and the Linga is the larger.

As you can see a glorious day of weather and here the ferry is approaching Symbister the main village on the Island passing by the salmon cages.

A new ferry is needed and there is talk of a tunnel but I suspect that may be just too expensive at the moment,
