Objects

The BBC has been running a wonderful radio series a history of the world in a hundred objects.
They invited the public to contribute and my friend Eric features with a piece of his family
history.
I bought this suitcase in India when I was 15.
It was one of the highlights of my time there.
It cost £1.00 and wealthy Indians we met on the train couldn't understand why I wanted a piece of luggage that were used by the one of lowest castes in India.
Because its beautiful.
It is now home to my knitting things.
