Cubic

The head of maths where I work impressed everybody at a meeting last week by being able to do a rubik's cube; so, having a long weekend, and chancing upon my daughter's cube, I decided to learn how it's done. It turns out it's actually dead easy. It's all to do with algorhythms (whatever they are), which is just a case of learning sequences of turns depending on the position of the squares. No suprise the maths bod could do it; It reminded me of those stupid sequences I had to learn for algebra at school that gave you the right answer in tests, but which I always seemed to forget.
