Mrs W O's Feeder Part 2
We're proud of our sparrow population in the garden. At any one time there can be up to 30+. They roost in the neighbour's leylandii (a hideous sight. the leylandii not the sparrows) and use it as a refuge from the Sparrowhawk and a perch during the day.
They seem to have a well-organised social system, there is always one on the lookout for Sparrowhawks, or the occasional Kestrel, while the others feed.
This one emerged from the leylandii after such a scare and is waiting for the all-clear before going to Mrs W O's feeder.
