A fair foreground

Well, a foreground can make or break a blip so this is a fair foreground.

Once a year the peace and tranquillity of Portree is blasted by the arrival of a fair. It always arrives for the autumn extended half term. Because many of the parents of school children are involved in the visitor trade the schools close for a fortnight at this time. It allows many of these families to take a holiday en-family.

However there are some businesses that benefit from a little extra trade at this quieter time of the year. Restaurants for instance because though many families go away so too people come to Skye for a late holiday at this time.

Our warm sunny Indian summer has now come to an end and we are blessed with cloudier days. The leaves are falling in earnest now.
