Zabar's in New York City

This is the cheese section at Zabar's, a true New York institution on Broadway on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. As in other parts of the store, the selection is huge, and prices are surprisingly reasonable.

It was midday, and there were relatively few people, for whatever reason, so shopping was easy. We were headed back to Northampton in our car, and we made our usual stop here, to stock up on such things as cheese, coffee (including Melitta filters), smoked salmon, etc. Today there was (exceptionally) almost no line at the specialty bread counter, so Marylee was able to buy one of her favorite sweet delicacies--Rugelach, Jewish rolled cookies.
