Clean Green?
Woke up early and jumped on my bike (now it's newly fixed) and headed into the forest. Forecast was bad, but what the hell!
Legendary ride. Took the advice of the bike mechs and rode up the roads to get to the "Billy T" trail. Hard to imagine, but a 400m climb in what looks like a tiny area - that?s higher than the Port Hills at home!
Then a fab ride down. Billy T is grade 4, that's my limit and even then I avoided many of the larger drops. Super fun tho. About 2.5 hours out, a good workout.
Then back the hotel , finish the presentation, pack, jump in the car and head to Taupo, a 1 hr drive.
Then a joint 3 hour presentation that went well with 80 tourism operators.
Good to be over and then the other presenter and I headed out for dinner. A good night and lots of work discussion, great day ;-)
Oh yes. Clean Green? Well, lots of debate in this country about that. And then I had to giggle when I got to the next hotel "help us save the planter and recycle your towel". Well that ain't going to save the planet, let's not kid ourselves.
And also, Tui is a beer brand here with billboards like this. This obviously is a rip off, compete with dead Tui!
