Wanda's Gift

Yesterday I was at the funeral of the oldest, dearest friend of my eldest sister. She died suddenly and will be sorely missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
The tin was given to me by Wanda and Jack, her lovely husband, over 30 years ago when I left to go to college. It was filled with yummy biscuits which were soon shared out amongst my room-mates who at the time were total strangers. The biscuits with a cuppa were the perfect way to get to know one another.
As you can see the tin has taken a few bumps along the way and is now my button/bits and bobs container.
I have always thought of Wanda when reaching for my tin, although now my thoughts will be tinged with sadness.
